With the help of Metro North train station, transportation to and from the stadium from Westchester, New York or Connecticut has gotten a lot easier. Metro North picked us up in Fairfield, Connecticut, made one stop in Stamford, Connecticut, and the next and last stop was right next to Yankee Stadium on the site of the original Yankee Stadium. The train ran every hour after the game started for the convenience of any fan that was not planning to stay for the entire game. The train’s first stop from Yankee Stadium was Stamford and it proceeded through the normal Metro North stops that it would make if it was leaving Grand Central. A round trip ticket was $24 per person leaving from Fairfield but the price decreases if you catch the train closer to the New York border. The Hudson/Westchester train line also runs trains to and from Yankee Stadium on game days.
around.
If you have the opportunity to attend Yankee Stadium enjoy the experience because despite your feelings about the team, they have a rich tradition after winning 27 championships. Get to the stadium early and walk out to Monument Park and visit the Yankee Museum. Also walk around the field level terrace to see a timeline of every New York Yankees’ team from the 1930’s until now. The new Yankee Stadium is a bit different than any other stadium.
