New Marlins Park Guide
Perhaps you have heard that the Marlins have moved from Florida to Miami. Yes, the winds of change are blowing as the Marlins also picked up new logos and uniforms, along with a new ballpark; Marlins Park. It will be the smallest ballpark based on capacity in Major League Baseball. Based on the Marlins' lackluster attendance numbers, this may not be a bad thing.
Parking
Parking at Marlins Park can be difficult, but not if you know what you are doing ahead of time. If you just randomly show up, you'll likely have some issues. The Marlins insist that you pre-pay for parking in order to park in the official lots. This is pretty simple once people get more comfortable with it, the idea being that...
marlins tickets
At the end of the day, the Marlins are the Marlins. This means on any given night, you the fan should be able to find quality value for your money on tickets. Really you should rarely need to pay face value for tickets, and here is why:
where to stay
Oceanfront - $129
If you have never been to Miami, it can be a scary place. I am speaking as a Midwesterner, so this is all about perspective. However, we spent some time their for the Orange Bowl and there were a number of times I felt like I was driving through an undeveloped country. I am not trying to rip Miami, of course there are many places that are very nice as well, but you should do your research about where to stay if you are coming in town to go to a Marlins game.
Personally I always use Hotwire for hotels, and find that if you stay in one marked a customer favorite you will be just fine. Another thing I've done and would recommend is stayed through AirBNB, where people turn their place into a Bed & Breakfast for you. This is a great way to meet people but more importantly stay in a really cool place without paying outrageous prices. The picture above is an oceanfront condo renting for $129 per night - pretty crazy. I am a big fan of AirBNB.
