Thanks to reader James, I was recently made aware of this story on STL Today which said that there will be no more free metered parking on Saturdays in downtown St. Louis. The change takes place in July 2013, so unless it is an evening game, you'll need to look for other options discussed in the Busch Stadium Guide. Meters are in effect until 7 pm, so keep that in mind.
